May RST Meeting
A couple of notes regarding Tuesday's meeting:
1. Our presentation will cover the FreeMasons' child locator program. Many of us remember being fingerprinted as a child to aid in identification in case we were lost or abducted. Think of this program as the modern high-tech equivalent. Without cost to parents, this program takes electronic fingerprints, photographs, video/audio clips and DNA samples of children. All of the non-DNA elements are burned to CDROM. Parents are given the CDROM and a preserved DNA sample, which can be given to Law Enforcement in the event of an emergency. For those of you with children -- our presenter has offered to do a demonstration. Let me know if you would like to have your child(ren) entered into the program at the meeting.
2. Following the presentation, Chuck Michels from Pima County RACES will say a few words to recruit additional volunteers for the RACES Hospital Unit. The Hospital Unit has radio equipment staged at all local hospitals to provide backup/supplemental communications in the event of a technical glitch or disaster which damages or overwhelms normal communications paths. Joe (N3SRU) reports that the RACES Suburban and the Pickup, will be parked outside of Cox for inspection prior and after the meeting. They are packed with "stuff".
3. I will have 200 copies of our eye-catching Field Day 2008 poster at the meeting. Please plan on taking one or more of them with you to post at your workplace, neighborhood library, supermarket, etc. -- anywhere with a bulletin board. The posters are 11x17", glossy and brightly-colored to attract a lot of attention. A preview is located here:

4. Randy promises a slide show (to run during our break) of the 7QP contest at the Titan Missile Museum.
5. We'll give a summary of the Field Day Summit and discuss any additional Field Day items that weren't addressed at the Summit.
