2008 ARRL June VHF QSO Party
THE RST CLUB IS WORKING THE 2008 ARRL June VHF QSO Party!
JOIN US!!!!!
June 14-15
11:00 AM (Tucson time) Saturday, June 14th through Sunday, June 15th at 11:00 AM.
We will be meeting and operating at the usual site near Radio Ridge on Mt. Lemmon for setup at 6:00 AM. This is the same site we have used and will use this year for Field Day.
This contest is not only VHF, but actually includes UHF as well.
This is a contest we CAN win and should win with some great effort. If band conditions are slightly on our side, it will be a great weekend!
Bands we plan on operating: 6m, 2m, 220MHz, 440MHz, 900MHz, 1.2 GHz Digital modes are not allowed in this contest. We think it would be a wonderful thing to work some microwave. If you are into using dishes and would like to help out, we WELCOME YOU!!! We would really like to operate above 1.2 GHz, but never have before in one of these contests.
PLEASE REMEMBER: If you unable to attend, but plan on working us that weekend, the rules strictly prohibit use of the national calling frequencies on 2m and 440. YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE 223.500 on the 220 band.
146.550 IS THE PLACE WE MOST LIKELY PLACE WILL BE HANGING OUT ON 2m FM SIMPLEX. Certainly look for us on the CW and SSB of these bands. Only recognized FM simplex frequencies may be used, such as 144.90 to 145.00; 146.49, .55 and .58, and 147.42, .45, .48, .51, .54 and .57 MHz on the 2-meter band.
We tend to be just above or just below the simplex calling frequencies on the other bands.
WE WILL BE USING THE CALLSIGN: K7RST
If you would like to help, here is a list of needed items:
----All-mode 220 MHz rig
----220 MHz Yagi
----CW Operators
----One portable tower – we are in good shape for the most part, but could use one more.
As usual, you will need to bring the usual necessary items if you plan on staying overnight. The Summerhaven restaurants close early, so bringing food is a MUST! We also will have Internet available. There is wonderful camping available! BRING SUNSCREEN, mosquito spray and lots of water.
If you wish to just come and watch, you are welcome to do so! We will gladly give you a chance to operate if you desire.
I will have more information on the way! This is a MAJOR contest and we are taking this one VERY seriously. We VERY MUCH could use your help.
